Don't Know If My Grandfather Served In Army?

Postby joshiemonkey007 » Fri Sep 12, 2008 11:08 pm

I have been tracing my family tree for sometime now. And have come across a photo of my grandfather Denys Wills Adey Richards. In a uniform in Blackpool about 1923 with his wife.

The photo is a bit blurred so i can not make out the badges on it.

He was born in 1898 Claines Worcestershire. And lived in Lower Wick St johns worcestershire

Can anyone help?

Where can i go from here?

Hi,

The best place to start is to get a copy of his army service record. This can be obtained from the Army Personnel Centre, details below:

Army Personnel Centre,
Historical Disclosures,
Mail Point 555,
Kentigern House,
65 Brown Street,
Glasgow,
G2 8EX

Tel: 0845 600 9663

You will need to give them his full name and date of birth. If you have his army number that will also help.
