Brigadier Hugh Richards.
I am writing a book for Harper Collins Ltd on the Siege of Kohima. Brigadier Hugh Richards of the Worcestershire Regiment played a major role in the battle. I am trying to contact anybody who knew him or any member of his family.

Hi Fergal,

Brigadier Hugh Upton Richards, CBE, DSO died in Malta on the 15th December 1983. I know he had a wife called Irene.

He had a son called Roger who also joined the Worcestershire Regiment. As far as I am aware there were also two grandsons called Hugh (who also joined the new Worcestershire & Sherwood Forester Regiment) and Benjamin who I believe may have also joined the regiment as an officer later.

If you contact Regiment HQ at Worcester they should be able to help with any further contact information:
RHQ Mercian (Worcester), Norton Barracks, Worcester, WR5 2PA.

Regards,

Louis
