Cpt.Leefe Robinson VC Funeral Memorial Card.

Postby silentservice » Fri Apr 17, 2009 11:42 pm

Hello
My wife has what looks like a memorial card from the funeral of Capt.L Robinson and she is wondering if this is something of historic importance.
It is a white card of 4 1/2" long by 3" high, has a silver border with a thinner black border just inside it with a black cross set in flowers and the words "Thy Will be done" in a small box to the right.
When opened the left side of the card has a photograph of Capt L Robinson and a verse. the right side has the wording "In Sacred memory of Capt.Leefe Robinson,VC." and finishes with the time, date and place of burial.
The card has been handed down to her and she was at one time told by a now long departed relative that her family was related in some way to Capt L Robinson but the full story has been lost in time.
All that remains is this card and i think it was issued at the funeral to those that attended but i may be wrong on this.
Can you help id this card.
Thanks for your time
Tim
