I have a dear friend (Jacques Maurice (Jock) AFFLECK, who is now 93 yrs old. He passed out from Norton Barracks in1933 and "picked" up the 2nd Bn in Malta, then to China and India. During the war he was for short periods with the 9th Bn as a CSM, then commissioned into ?KSLI and then 2nd Bn Herefordshire.
Saw most of the War with Indian Army Service Corps in BURMA.
Because of his age I (61yrs) accompany him to RBL/military functions etc.
We were at The Worcestershire Regt. reunion in 2004.
As we live in Bangor, Co Down and are approx 10 miles from 2 Mercian, we visited the Bn about 9 months ago and I`m saddened to say the welcome was not as expected for a very old soldier of one of their antecedent Regiments.
He welcomes news about HIS REGIMENT.
If anyone would like to reply I will relay to Jock.
