Grandfather Bert Bush

Postby lynkernohan » Wed Nov 10, 2010 11:57 am

Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone can help me find out some more information about my grandfather Bertram John Bush. He is buried in Rangoon War Cemetery and his service no. is 6029690.
Basically I want to know was he a POW and if so for how long and what was his cause of death.
What puzzles me is VJ day was in August and he didn't die until November, why was he still there, was he perhaps in hospital?

Any help would be appreciated.

Hi,

He may have died from illness. Suggest you contact the Regimental Archives at Worcester as they may be able to help. Contact details are on the home page of this website.

There was an outbreak of diphtheria during November 1945 at the 2nd Battalion location at Rangoon, Burma.
