finding records 4th battalion worcestershire regiment

Postby jmdroots » Tue Mar 20, 2012 5:02 am

Hi My great Uncle George Davis (B:11 MAR 1886 in Smite Hill, Claines Worcester D: 24 March 1972 in Ironbridge, Salop, England) was in the 4th battalion worcestershire regiment .I have a copy of a 'cute' little 1913 Xmas photo album that I just found in my father's things. (there is a copy of some of it on this web page; I have the complete book).
He may then have been in the 3rd Worcs as I have a photo and that is written on the back with G Coy and the number 10521.

My question is: Where can I find the records for George? I looked on Ancestry but can not find his military records. I found him on the 1911 census overseas military in India.

Thanks for any help.

Janice,
If you are interested in your Gt.Uncle's earlier military history, there is a George Davis,
who appears to fit the bill, with a set of Worcestershire Militia Attestation Papers for 1906.
These can be seen on FIND MY PAST.He later joins a regular Batt.of the Worcesters.
