Pte Reginald Rudge 8321

Postby Tommy1418 » Mon Apr 30, 2012 9:19 am

Good Morning, I've been referred to you by the GWR in the hope that you may be able to assist?
I'm currently researching a relative of mine, a Pte. Reginald Rudge 8321, I''ve been lucky enough to trace his service records back to his attestation in 1908 as a 'Special Reservist' in the 5th Btn, & subsequently into the 2nd Btn in 1914 until he was reported MIA, WOUNDED, KIA (Presumptive) -16.5.15 @ the Battle of Festubert (Richebourg).
I was wondering (extremely long shot!), whether a photo of him survived in the regimental archives ?
Also, on a more likely tack, where could I get a copy of 2nd Btn 'war diary 1914-16'?

Kind Regards,

Ian

Hi Corona,

how do you know that? Do you own it? I missed out on it last time by a fortnight as I hadn't been aware it had come up on Ebay, but have been able to get hold of his war medal. I did enquire with the seller at the time as they said the buyer hadn't paid but heard nothing further....Ian

Hi Ian,
Sorry I'm not able to help. I don't own the medal.
When it came up on Ebay I remembered see his name on this Forum.
Like so many others, with missing family medals , we hope to find them one day on Ebay, dealers lists etc.
Keep looking!
Regards,
corona.
