My great grandfather William Robinson, born 2/6/1881 in Swindon, joined the 3rd Wilts on 29/12/1899 no. 6182. During WW1 he was in the Worcesters. On his medal card is three numbers
Pte 3254 Worcester Regiment
Pte 201139 7th Worcesters apparently
Pte 614579 Royal Engineers.
It also states that he went to France on 31/3/1915.
When his wife died in February 1918 it states on the death certificate that he was a sergeant in the 7th Worcesters. I also know that he was in a military hospital in sept and october of 1918 in Newcastle upon Tyne. I cannot find his service history and would be interestered if anyone has any further information.
