Pte George Bennett 2nd Bttn Worcesters died S Africa 1904

I posted the piece below in Nov 2010 but have since had no replies. I am posting again.

'Family tradition says the above subject died in the Boer War but doing research I realise the dates are incorrect. He was supposedly the bugler boy. His regimental no was 8007. We have a photograph of his grave "Erected by Officers, NCO's & Men of F Coy. May 20th 1904 aged 18". It looks newly dug or the memorial newly erected. I can send a copy of the photo to anyone who could give us any idea of where it would be in 1904.'
I have since discovered he is buried in Bloemfontein. I found that on the site for 'Worcester Regt Soldiers' Effects'. These were sent to his father in Chaddesley Corbett. I have tried unsuccessfully to attach a photo of the grave here.

Can someone tell me why he was still in S Africa after 1902 & what could have happened? I think the Battn had gone to the West Indies.

Still hopeful. Olive Broadfield
