Hello Stuart,
welcome to Louis Scully's Worcestershire Regiment website. You did not say if you wanted further information or were just making us aware of your grandfather. I had a quick look/see at him but he did not serve overseas with us after 1914. Do you know if he was still a Worcester soldier after 1914? I suspect he joined another regiment. Does the birth certificate say he was in the 2nd Battalion and was your father born in Ceylon?
Regards Mike

Hi Mike thank-you for the information.I would certainly be interested in his sevice history.I'm think he was at Columbo Celylon but it also mention's Ahmednagar W.G.Tarbet Capt. Adjt.2/Worc Regt was the officer who made return. He did serve in the first world war. Could have been a different regiment as you suggested. His eye sight was not a 100 percent. I belive he served as a cook ? Thanks again for your effort Mike.

Hi Stuart,
I will try see if I can find any details on Captain W. G. Tarbet as it may give you some more clues. If I find anything I will post it here in the forum.
I could not find any reference to a Peter Richmond 6422 on the WW1 Medal Index Card list? Are you sure he served in WW1?
Regards,
Louis

Hi Stuart,
More information on Capatin William Godfrey Tarbet, D.S.O. - War born in Liverpool in 1878 son of Edward Godfrey Tarbet who was a Solicitor. He was orginally commissioned from the Royal Military Colledge as a 2/Lieutenant in to the Princess of Wale's Own (Yorkshire Regiment) on the 16th February 1898. He served with the 4th Battalion Princess of Wale's Own (Yorkshire Regiment) during the Boer War in South Africa and was awarded the D.S.O. for gallantry in 1901. He later transferred to the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment with the rank of Captain and held the position of Adjutant until he vacated that post on the 6th September 1909. I can find no information of him serving in WW1.
Regards,
Louis
