Lieut.-Colonel Hugh De Berdt Hovell - WW1 Medals

Greetings and Salutations to All:

I am trying to find out any information on the above named officer, Lieut.-Colonel Hugh De Berdt Hovell. Was he entitled to WW1 medals and what were they? Or the location of any information. Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, and Thankyou in Advance.

You will find information about Lieut.-Colonel Hovell in the "Battalion Commanding Officers" section of this website. Then select either the 1st, 2nd or 13th Battalion and you will find a clickable link on his name. Here you will find full details of his life and army career. The direct link to this page is:

You will also see reference to 2 other books (manuals) he wrote, namely;
"Soldiers' Shooting" (London: Gale & Polden, 1888) and
"Soldiers' Training and Other Notes" (London: Gale & Polden, 1900)
