Hello everyone again and well done to everyone for keeping so many memories alive.
Just a question regarding my grandfather JAMES, OLIVER, YEATES, born Elmstone Hardwicke, Private, 15662, joined in 1914, i have him down as a battalion runner 21/11/1915 to 15/09/1916 and Brigade runner 15/09/1916 to 07/02/1919.
He won his M.M. at or around Cambrai 1917 but i also remember a story of him winning it at HILL60, Awarded at Kemmel shelters 01/11/1917, London Gazette12/12/1917.
I also believe he was originally with the 10th then the 3rd Worcesters? Can anyone explain this, was he transferred when he moved from battalion to brigade runner and is this information correct?
As always if anyone has any information about him, his service please contact me. I would love to get a photo of him from the war years. There was one circulating with relatives in the Gloucester area but it seems to have been mislayed!
I have some great pics of him when we visited the battlefields in 1964 when i was a little chap!!
