Private william edwards 10th Bn 5th March 1917

Private William Edwards, 10th Battalion, Worcestershire Regiment died of wounds near Peronne age 27 on the 5th March 1917. William was the son of Edmund and Mary Ann Edwards and born on the 3rd August 1887 at 36, Wellington Street. Employed as a driller and miller, he resided at 17 Highfield Road prior to enlisting in late 1914. William is buried in Hem Farm Military Cemetery, Hem-Monacu near Peronne. Some of the records state William was in the 1st Battalion and others the 10th Battalion, it is known that both of these Battalions were in the same region and William could have been transferred between the two.
