Hi,
i am assisting the granddaughter of Cecil Vidler (Sgt, 5851) in trying to find out what battalion he served with in Gallipoli. Asking the question here before checking the medal rolls.

Cecil was recalled for WWI, and originally posted to the 6th batallion. From there he was posted overseas and came to Gallipoli 17.10.15, and left for UK 5.1.16, dicharged in april 1916 and issued with a SWB.

I guess this could fit with both 4th and 9th batallion?

Grateful for any help,

/Lars

Hi Lars,

His service Records shows he was with the 4th Battalion at Gallipoli. I have a copy of his service record which I will email you (5 pages). I will email you a copy in Microsoft Word format.

Regards,

Louis

PS,
should you prefer to post direct to his granddaughter, I quite understand and will provide the email. Just a bit reluctant to post it on an open forum.
