Worcestershire Regiment

This man served in the 5th Battalion Central Flying School (RFC) and was awarded the MC in 1917,does anyone have any details?.

Today I saw his grave at St Marys Hartley Wintney Hants and he seems a long way from home,his grave contains a relation, Lawrence Dunnett, but its hard to read.

Commissioned in the 5th Worcesters in October 1914, New years Honours list 1st January 1917, so no citation.

Hello Richard,
there are one or two men that do have records of Worcestershire Officers but they dont often come on to the Forum. Your best bet is to contact the Worcestershire Regiment Archives at Norton Barracks. They have extensive records of Officers and may even have a Photo.

Hi,

Captain Raymond Frederick Dunnett, M.C. was killed on the 17th November 1917.

His Medal Card shows he entered the Theatre of War on the 5th October 1915 and was posted to the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment with the rank of Lieutenant. He was wounded on the 24th August 1916 at Delville Wood.

After treatment back in England he then joined the Royal Flying Corps with the rank of Captain.

His father was F. C. Dunnett and lived at Bank House, Hartley Whitney, Hampshire.
