Hi Cris,

Thanks for your email and the copy of the medal card. The information
on the Medal Card is as follows:
Percy C. Moore (19976)

Worc R = Worcestershire Regiment

Pte = rank was Private

The card shows he was entitled to 3 medals:
Victory Medal, War Medal and the 1915 Star
The numbers against each medal show the reference numbers for the
Medal Roll which is held at Kew and may give you more details like the
Battalion he was with. The numbers on your card are:
Roll number L/102 B20 page 4427 (this is for the Victory Medal and War Medal)

Roll number L/5B page 632 (this is for the 1915 Star)

You will also see reference to SWB List L/403. This means he was
awarded the Silver War Badge and details can be obtained from the
Silver War Badge Roll also held at Kew, the Roll Number is L/103.
The fact that he was awarded a Silver War Badge means he was
discharged due to wounds or ill health (the Silver War Badge Roll will
provide details).
You will also notice on the Medal Card in the Remarks Box there is the
word "Disch" meaning Discharged.

The card also shows that he served in France and that he first entered
France on the 1st April 1915.

If you contact Regimental Archives at Norton Barracks they have
details of his Silver War Badge which will give you additional
information. If you send a request to them please include a donation
of £5 to cover their costs.
