Worcestershire Soldiers Buried Hebuterne Military Cemetery

Evening Everyone,
I recently visited the WW1 Hebuterne Military Cemetery, in the Pas de Calais, primarily to photograph the grave of my relative; 3976 PTE Joseph JEAVONS, 1-7th Bn Worcestershire Regiment. Whilst there I also took the opportunity to digitally photograph the graves of the other Worcestershire Regiment lads I found there. My intention is to get the images to Louis SCULLY to post onto the site.
The cemetery is a quiet, beautiful and secluded spot, well laid out and immaculately maintained by the Commonwealth War Graves Commission. Most of the Worcestershire lads lie together in 2 neat rows. I have captured images of the following graves (date of death in brackets);

So proud they all stood FIRM and now rest together.

Of the names listed, five are Kiddeminster lads all from the 1/7th Bn who are buried in Plot I Row J as follows:-

Grave 16 WALTERS Francis Pte 2492 B Coy. He was in a front line trench when he was struck by shell fragments and killed. This single headstone has a story behind it which illustrates the committment and suffering by many families during the Great War. He had a brother John who as Pte 1630 1/7th Bn Worcs Reg was K IA on 15th August 1916 and is buried in Puchevillers British Cemetery I:E:75. Their sister Emmas husband, BROMLEY Samuel Cpl 16824 11th Bn Worcs was KIA on 24th April 1917 in Salonika The WALTERS brothers had a brother James, he served in the Worcs Reg and then later as 214513 in the RE. They had four other sisters who were married to men who served.

Grave 18 CATER Frederick H. Cpl 13 2 Platoon A Coy. He was struck in the head by a fragment from an exploding shell and died soon after

Grave 19.HAMBLY John Pte 804 , he was shot in the head by a sniper on the evening of 21st August 1915. He had been a pre-war Territorial and was drafted to France in April 1915.

Grave 20.WILBRAHAM Thomas Arden Pte 2295 4th Platoon A Coy Pte Wilbraham was also killed by a sniper the same evening as HAMBLY and he is buried side by side with HAMBLY

albert ennis family lived 1ct. 5 stafford street , dudley. his brothers john, samson and samuel were also killed in the world war one.

3 were killed with the worcesters , 1 with the south staffs

I have been checking through my casualty list from the Worcester Herald and have found the following information. All the dates are the issue date of the paper.

WALTERS Francis Pte 2492 B Coy. - 7th Battalion reported Killed 30 October 1915

WALTERS John Pte 1630 Reported 22 September 1916 7th Battalion DIED A man was usually reported as DIED when he was not killed in action.

WILBRAHAM Thomas Arden Pte 2295 - 7th Battalion Wounded reported 26 June 1915

HUGHES Harry George William L/Cpl 2182 - Reported killed 1 July 1916

3976 PTE Joseph JEAVONS from 1st/7th Bn? Reported Killed 3 June 1916
as 3876 Pte J Jeavons – Dudley

2015 Pte A Ennis 7th Battalion reported Killed 8 Jan 1916
