Frank Oram Worcestershire Regiment 1914-18 question

Sorry if this got posted twice so I will keep it short.

I am looking for information into my Grandfather Cpl Frank Oram
service number 75390. I have details of his MIC but would be interested in anything else. I dont know the battalion or anything else.

Thanks

Mike

His MIC shows he served with the Wilts, OBLI and Worcs

The MIC shows he entered the F&F theatre on 7th October 1914 with the Wilts Reg, the 2nd Bn Wilts landed at Zeebrugge on that date.

I would hazard a guess that he ended up in the 3rd Worcs. His MIC card shows that the BWM was issued to him in India. The 3rd Worcs went to India in Jan 1920.

Hope this helps

Hello Mike,
Welcome to the Forum. Your Grandfather was a career soldier. He joined before war started and he transferred to the Worcesters after the war ended. His Worcester number 75390 was issued around August 1919. If you contact Worcestershire Regiment Archives, they have the enlistment ledgers for this period. These will definitely have his entry and some detailed information on him. Since the Archives are run by Volunteers and are a registered charity a small donation is always welcomed. Any money helps to preserve the very records you need.
Regards Mike
