Samuel Thompson from Smethwick was awarded the Military Medal during the First World War, the award being announced in the London Gazette in May 1919. I am trying to find out the circumstances that led to Samuel being awarded the medal . I believe the citations were lost in a fire during World War 2. Does anyone know where I could now find the information?
