My Grandfather who was P.O.W. in the Great War

Postby peter4076 » Sun Nov 30, 2008 9:03 pm

My Grandfather died 49yrs ago ( I am 60 ), my mother aged 82 and her sister age 90 only know that their father was in the First World War and at sometime during the campaign he became a prisoner of war.
His name was " 12657 Pte Thomas Sydney Holloway " and he served with the 1st Bn, The Worcestershire Regiment, any information would be gratefully received.

Peter
May I suggest that you contact Regimental HQ at Norton Barracks Worcester gve them all the information you have on your grandfather and they will I am sure give you evrything that you have on your grandfather you can contact them form the opening page of this site, but please remember that they are volunteers and the Archives cost money to keep in order so a small contribution is always welcome
All the very best

Hi Peter

I have found a report in the Worcester Herald dated the 17th April 1915 of a 12657 Pte T. Holloway, Wounded at Neuve Chapelle.
