Hi,
Robert Burridge enlisted in to the Worcestershire Regiment at Kings Norton on the 7th July 1908 (age 23 years and 2 months). He joined the 8th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. army number 578 later changed to 240029.
Promoted to Lance Corporal on 1st August 1909 - to Corporal on the 31st Jult 1910 - to Sergeant on the 7th July 1913.
From 1908 to 1914 he attended the annunal training camps of the 8th Battalion as a Territorial soldier.
On the 5th August 1914 he was embodied in to the 8th Battalion and was posted to the 2/8th battalion.
On the 26th November 1915 he was released form military duty for work on Government contracts.
He was discharged on the 8th March 1917 (after 8 years and 245 days service). He was discharged under the Kings Regulations 392 (xxi).
His total service period was all in the United Kingdom.
