Hi Paul,
I found a Private Edwin James Hardman (army number 8088).
He enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment on the 7th December 1903 (at the age of 18, and joined the 3rd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment at Tipperary on the 8th December 1903.
Posted to the 4th Battalion on the 21st November 1905.
He was in Malta from 22nd November 1905 to 7th May 1906
He was in Egypt from 8th May 1906 to 8th June 1906
He was in Malta from 9th June 1906 to 11th November 1908
Was sentenced by District Court Martial on the 2nd June 1908 for stricking his superior officer (on the 25th May 1908), he was sentenced to 84 days detention. He was released early on the 11th August 1908 (14 days remitted).
He was in India from 12th August 1908 to 20th February 1912.
Transferred to the Army Reserves on the 22nd February 1912.
He was called up (mobilised) on the 5th August 1914 (out break of war)
Landed in France with the B.E.F. on the 12th August 1914. (with the 2nd Battalion)
From 12th August to 21st September 1914 he was in France.
From 22nd September 1914 to the 24th March 1915 he was back in the U.K. (Home) and posted to the 6th Battalion.
Posted to the 1st Battalion on the 24th March 1915.
From the 25th March 1915 to 29th August 1915 he was back with the B.E.F. in France with the 1st Battalion.
Received a gun shot wound to the foot on the 27th July 1915.
Posted to Depot on the 29th August 1915.
From the 30th August 1915 to the 29th November 1915 he was back in the U.K. (Home).
On the 22nd November 1915 he was posted to the 5th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment.
Posted to the 2nd Battalion on the 30th November 1915.
From the 30th November 1915 to 11th June 1917 he was back with the B.E.F. in France
Appointed unpaid Lance Corporal on the 27th May 1916.
Appointed paid Lance Corporal on the 10th November 1916.
Received a gun shot wound to left hand at Ginchy on the 1st November 1916.
Received a server gun shot wound to right shoulder near the village of Croiselles on the 11th June 1917.
Posted to the Depot on the 11th June 1917.
Posted to the 6th Battalion on the 11th October 1917.
Deprived of Lance Corporal rank for aaaa on the 2nd January 1918 (demoted back to Private).
Transferred to the Labour Corps on the 1st April 1918.
Posted to the Reserve Labour Corps on the 13th April 1918.
Transferred to the Royal Defence Corps on the 27th June 1918 (Army number changed to 82714).
Discharged from the Army on the 28th February 1919 (under King's Regulations - Paragraph 392 (xvi).
He was awarded the Silver War Badge (wounds badge)
His medals included the 1914 Star with bar, British War Medal and the Victory Medal.
