Hello,

i was wondering if there was anything in the casualty lists for Walter Wilfred Cecil MITCHELL 35820 3rd battalion. Buried in Cologne Germany Jan 1918 but went missing sometime during 1917 in France.

Hi Allan,
My Grandfather Sergeant George Davis 4881 4th Worcestershire Regt. went from India to WWI and was injured about Mar 1916 I believe. Would you have any reference about him? I think he was returned to England. Crystal

Hi Helen

Unfortunatly I do not have a record of Walter. Regards Allan

Hi Crystal

Better news about George.

15th May 1915 edition of the Worcester Herald
Wounded
4th Battalion
4881 Sergt G. Davis

29th May 1915 edition of the Bromsgrove & Droitwich Messenger
Manchester Hospital
4880 Sergt G. Davis 4th Batt Wounded

Crystal, you do know that the 4th were at Gallipoli from the 25th April 1915?

Have you both tried to find if their Service Records and in George's case, Pension Records exist on Ancestry? If they have survived they would give you a wealth of information.

Sorry nothing for Andrew George Harrison

Hello,
I wonder if you could check your resources to see if there is anything about Albert Birch, 4th Worcester number 10910. He was killed at Gallipoli on June19 1915 after serving in India and Burma.
Many thanks,
Charles Birch

Thank you Allan for information on my Grandfather George Davis 4881 WWI. I appreciate your effort and time.
I have a photo of George wearing his Queen South Africa Medal I think he was also wounded in South Africa. His photo has been uploaded on a Worcestershire regiment site here are the links:
www.worcestershireregiment.com/photo_pt ... s_4881.php
(after the forward slash it should read photo_pte_g_davis_4881.php)
The photo with the medal should have title Sergeant and is in the process of being updated.
regards Crystal

Hi,
would somebody be kind enough to check the casualty lists for 11265 Cpl Arthur Walter Clarke, 2nd Bn KIA 15/07/16, I would be interested to find out if he was wounded prior to being KIA?

Very many thanks,
Rick

Hi it's my first time on here and I am looking to see if anyone has any information on my great uncle
Lance Corporal 16391 James Henry Clarke, all I know of him was that he was killed in action
on 6th august 1915 in the Gallipoli campaign. James served with The Worcestershire Regiment
4th Battallion, 88th Brigade, 29th Division. Apparently there is no known grave as he was blown
up by a shell going to take out a machine gun post. He is commemorated on the Helles memorial
in Turkey.
