In Feb 1918, the BEF was restructed, one of the main reasons was that the UK was essentially running out of men to send to the front. Prior to Feb 18 there were 4 Bn in each Infantry Brigade, this was reduced to 3 per Brigade. So a third of the infantry Bns in France were disbanded and the men posted to other units. In Feb 1918 three Glos Reg Bns were disbanded, the 2/4th, 10th and 14th so if he was in one of those Bns, this maybe one reason. Another could be that he was wounded and upon returning to France he passed through the Corps reinforcement camp where the decision was made to send him to the Worcs because his unit was up to strength.
