Rhineland

I am trying to trace the wartime experience of my husbands grandfather David Slimm. From medal records I know he was first in the South Staffs and then the Worcestershire Regiment. I have no idea of the battalion. However I do know that after armistace he marched into the Rhineland (the march apparently left a lasting impression on him). Does anyone know which battalions were involved? Thank you Susan
