Anyone have access to the war diary? I'm looking for the fatal wounding of Corporal Arthur While on 13th - Stacke seems unclear....
Thanks
Simon

Simon,
The 10th weren't involved in any large scale action on the 13th, there are only two fatalities recorded on the day for the 10th Bn, Pte While and Pte George Woodbridge who are buried in adjacent graves at Le Touret. In the previous 12 days there were only two other fatalities, so the Bn must have been out of the line in a quiet sector but still enduring the drip-drip of casualties through the odd shelling or training accidents which may not have been 'worthy' of recording by Stacke.
Regards
Kevin.

Thanks Kevin - While was killed by shrapnel during the shelling of billets - so your data fits well.
I'm still pegging away at the Bewdley memorial balancing work and family! We ought to swap notes sometime!
Best
Simon
