Trying to find any information on pte Tom Garrett my great grandfather
all I know is that he served with Worcestershire regiment in WW1 and was at the Somme. He was wounded in action , I think in 1918 just before the war ended. His daughter (my grandmother) is now 96 & I am trying to find any information however small about what or where he served or how he was wounded. Any assistance or help would be much appreciated . What I would really like to find is a copy of a regimental photo if one exists that shows him. Thank you !

Hi Hamilton

I have checked the National Archive and I can only find references to T. GARRATT there is no T. Garrett.

There are 2 listed 3689 Pte Thomas Garratt & 21042 Pte Thomas Garratt.

I have checked my casualty lists and cannot find a reference to 3689. This is not to say that he was not wounded, just not reported in the Worcester Herald.

I have a reference to 21042 Pte Thomas Garratt.

12th June 1915 edition - Wounded & in Hospital
2nd Western General Hospital Manchester 14 May 1915
21042 Pte T. Garratt - Slight

If you have Toms medals his Service number & Regiment are engraved in the edge.

I hope that this information is of help.
