Below is some information which may be of help.
Private Arthur Hendy (35603) attested on the 12th December 1915 and was eventually mobilized at Bristol on the 24th August 1916. At the time he was 22 years and 1 month old and his occupation was listed as a Bootmaker.
He joined the 1st Garrison Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on the 28th August 1916 and was with them based at Ryde, Isle of Wight.
He joined the 6th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on the 22nd December 1916.
In January and February 1917 he was at Devonport.
He was eventually posted to service in France and was posted to 46th Infantry Base Depot in France (a transit camp) on the 23rd March 1917.
He was then posted to the 3rd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on the 24th March 1917.
Shortly afterwards he was posted to the 1st Battalion Worcestershire Regiment on the 31st March 1917.
On the 25th May 1918 he was tried by Field General Court Marshal for a discipline and was sentenced to 56 days at a Field Prison No.1.
He was then posted to the Depot before returning back to the 1st Battalion in the field.
He was wounded (gun shot wound to left wrist) and admitted to a Field Hospital on the 29th May 1918. He was evacuated back to the U.K. on the 2nd September 1918 and ended up at St. Marys Hospital, Paddington, London on the 17th September 1918.
He was discharged from the army on the 12th March 1919.
