Firstly, apologies if this question has been raised and answered before. I have searched the Forum, without success, but as a new boy, I may have missed this information.

My question is: who were the commanding officers of the 7th and 8th Battalions of the Worcestershire Regiment in March 1916, please?
I would be grateful for any information that you can provide. My reason for asking is that I am editing the diaries of General Sir Thomas Morland (GOC X Corps in 1916) and the names of these CO's come up in March 1916. Unfortunately General Morland's hand-writing is so bad I cannot make out the officers' names!

Thanks - Bill

Hi Bill,

There is a section on the website with details of all the Battalion Commanders. On the home page you will find the link to the Battalion commanders which will take you to another page where you can select the individual battalion.

1/7th battalion - Lieut.-Colonel A. R Harman (Rifle Brigade - Prince Consort's Own) commanded the 7th battalion from 1914 to 1917.

1/8th Battalion - Lieut.-Colonel Walter King Peake (Royal Berkshire Regiment) commanded the 8th Battalion from March 1911 to September 1916.

2/7th Battalion - Lieut.-Colonel Leslie Claude Dorman commanded from May 1916 to October 1917.

2/8th Battalion - Lieut.-Colonel F. Checketts commanded from May 1916.

Regards,

Louis (webmaster)
