Which newspaper?

As the Worcester Regiment recruited from all over the Midlands would casualty or KIA lists be printed in any other newspapers than the Worcester ones? Reason I ask is Im trying to pin down the loss of my great-grandfathers 5 brothers and eventually his mother which may have been newsworthy. He was from Birmingham, however Im having difficulty finding any mention of it in the Birmingham papers. This life event was enough for him to be granted furlough leave to come home, Im just wondering if it made the Worcester papers as he was attached to the Worcester Regiment?

Hello All, sorry for delay i was collating information whilst on weekend nightshift ;-(

My great grandfather had quite a few siblings, his mother was expecting pretty much every year and a half!!!!

Fathers name is Charles, Mothers name is Hannah or Anna.... theyre all born in Birmingham

Charles born 1871
Frederick born 1875
Harry born 1877
Thomas born 1879
Ernest my great grandfather born 1881
Edwin born 1887
Arthur born 1889
Walter born 1885... I have records of Walter, he died 4 Sept 1917 38017 3rd Bn Somerset Light Infantry

He was given furlough leave in November 1917. Losing 5 brothers would make sense as my children are pretty much the end of the Smith line, we have no other relatives (that we know of) and my dad didnt know of any great uncles or 2nd cousins when he was growing up....Ive had a quick scan of the CWGC but couldnt find anything tangible. Would appreciate any information anyone can provide.

Hi

Do you have any of their numbers. There are hundreds of Smith's in the Casualty Lists.
