Private Harry Hall

Postby kazzaco » Tue Oct 16, 2012 8:35 am

I wonder if you can help me find any further information on my relative, Private Harry Hall, No 10224, 4th Battallion Worcester Regiment. I know he died on 30th April 1915 in Gallipoli and is mentioned on the Helles memorial. Is there any further information available.

Thank you
kazzaco

Hi kazzaco

His MIC says he entered the Balkans (2b) on 25.4.15 and interestingly the back of the card gives his Father's address, very unusual- Mr William Hall, 6 New St Hasbury Halesowen, with a date of 7.9.20
SDGW has this-

Name:Harry Hall

Birth Place:Hasbury, Worcs
Residence:Hasbury

Death Date:30 Apr 1915

Death Location:Gallipoli
Enlistment Location:Halesowen, Worcs

Rank:Private

Regiment:Worcestershire Regiment
Battalion:4th Battalion
Number:10224
Type of Casualty:Killed in action

Theatre of War:Balkan Theatre

Unfortunately his service records seem to have been destroyed.

regards

Robert

Sorry it looks like the link wont work, go to The War Graves Photographic Project, Put in his full surname and first names, he is on the first page in the list that comes up . Also gives this -
Details:
30-Apr-1915 Aged 28 Son of Mr. and Mrs. Hall, of New Rd., Hasbury, Halesowen, Birmingham. Panel 104 to 113.
