Pte George Blacham 11220 Convicted of Desertion

Postby Glyde » Sat Nov 16, 2013 11:22 pm

Hello can anyone throw any light on this please.
It seems that he went to France with the 2nd Battalion, on the Worcester Cathedral Nominal Roll, but "Convicted for Desertion 14 May, 1915)
He then enlists in the Labour Corp. on 3 December, 1915 and is discharged on 20 march, 1919 because of sickness, awarded SWB.
His 1914 Star is returned but is it reinstated? See MIC.
It seems that he is awarded both WM and VM, but the WM is named to the Worcersters.
Trying to understand all of this.
Any thoughts would be much appreciated.
