My Great Uncle was killed on the 25th September 1917 and I am trying to find out where? I am due to visit in August and would like to pay my respects at the battle site as well as Tyne Cot.
Any Pointers would be appreciated

Hi Steve,

I think the location would have been in the area of Menin Road and east of Veldhoek.

Check out the 2nd Battalion section for 1917 it gives details there covering your date period.

Hello Steve, there is a very good account in Stackes history of the movements and location of the 2 nd Worcesters for that time period, Polygon Wood ,Sanctuary Wood, Gheluvelt all places which you must have read about and still bear the scars of the battles and are a must for visitors to that area, have you been before? I know there are members out there that can print excerpts from Stacke to these pages , unfortunately I struggle with the technology, however if nothing is forthcoming i,ll let you have my e mail and send you a few things,,,, Colin

Could you please forward any information on Stackes history of the movements as I can not find on the web.
I have a visit planed for the 17th -20th August to the Somme and Ypres so if you have any suggestions of where is a must to visit I would be most grateful Thank You.
