2/7th Battalion Disbandment 1918

Postby Bradley » Sat Aug 02, 2014 4:14 pm

Hello again.

I wondered if anyone could help me out with a query I have relating to my grandfather, Thomas Perkins Bradley 4306/201822, who served with the 2/7th Battalion up until its disbandment in early February 1918. Is there any way of knowing which battalion he was transferred to? I know that it was either the 2/8th or the 10th, but which one was it? This will allow me to follow his service history up until he left the forces in April 1919. What is confusing me is that the Army Form E.11 (I'm lucky enough to have his war records) completed at Fovant states that the theatre of war he served in was Italy and that he was with the 4th Battalion when he was discharged. According to the research I have made the 2/8th, 4th and 10th didn't serve in Italy during the war, so I'm rather confused! Any help received on this particular conundrum would be greatly appreciated.
