Rich,
Most likely he was at Gheluvelt. I've not found any information to omit him but not knowing which Company he was serving with could not confirm him being in the charge ('A' Company not taking part).

Thanks again Peter.
As this was such an important achievement for the Regt., and as time goes on it is unlikely that any new information will come forward, isn't it feasible to add a 'likely to have been there' option on the list? (Just a thought. If you need any help I have plenty of time)!
Back to possibles, I now have a 14 trio to 7250 PTE Thomas Brueton 2/Worc. Went to France 26/8/14. Transferred to MGC number 17217, but not sure when. Was he a charger?

Rich.

(Still looking for Chantler medals).

Rich,

I have very little information on Brueton so after seeing your posting took another look at him. Do you have anything on him other than his medals? I may have more information but not sure its the right Brueton so if you have anything it could help.

MGC 1/1/1916

Rich,

Most likely he was with the Battalion at Gheluvelt on the 31.10.1914 but in the charge I could not say for certain. His service number would suggest he enlisted October 1902 (aged about 18). Born 1884 Wolverhampton. He would have been a reservist and recalled to the colours in August 14. Thomas would have been with one of the party of re inforcements sent to join the Battalion and would not have reached them until about mid September. He was a married man (possible marriage June Q. 1911 to Minnie Gaudern). No reports for (T. Brueton) wounded for 1914 found. Discharged 19.2.1919.
