Can any one help me with my search for information on a BENJAMIN GEORGE MORRIS, no 9060, he served in WW1.

9060 Pte B Morris 3rd Battalion was reported wounded on the 6 March 1915. He is then reported as being admitted to the 1st Southern General Hospital Birmingham on the 24th June 1915.

Since I posted this for information on my partners Grandfather, she has managed to get his pension records, on the date you mention, 24/06/1915, we have, from the record, that he was taken to the General Hospital, Dublin, Ireland, For convellesance. Could you let me know where you got this information from, and if possible let me have any other details,

I have started typing out the details but I havn't got round to finishing it, trying to read the writing, this is as far as I have got he was wounded about 4 times,

Born Sept 1886.
Lived 8 Queen St. Kidderminster, Worcs. Labourer.
Enlisted on 30/01/1905, aged 18 years. Worcestershire Regiment.
Army No: 9064.
Height: 5’ 6”.
Weight: 140lbs, (when leaving service)
Complexion: Sallow,
Eyes: Brown,
Hair: Brown,
He had small scar at point of chin.
Date.
03/02/1915, G.S.W. Left arm, and Shrapnel wound in left shoulder.
20/02/1915, To convelesant camp.
05/03/1915, Returned to duty.
09/03/1915, Proceeded to join Battalion.
16/06/1915, Wounded at Hooge, G.S.W. back and chest wall, admitted, 17/06/1915,
24/06/1915, Taken to the General Hospital, Dublin, Ireland, For convellesance.
06/12/1915, Disembarked at Alexandria. Posted from 6th, BN to 4th, 24/11/1915.
17/05/1916, Appointed to Lance CPL. Place: France.
15/06/1916, Embarked Alex, H.T. Trvania. ??.

Hello Jim,
there is not much we can add when you have his service record. It should list his medals and he won (amongst others) the 1914 Star. He is entered on the 3rd Battalion Embarkation Roll in Worcester Cathedral. These are a set of wooden panels, written in gold plate. Was he re-called from reserve in 1914 or was he still a regular?

Hi Mike,
There is a page named SHORT SERVICE, which states, 9 years with the colours, and ? years in the Reserve. If the man completes his 9 years service with the colours while beyond the sea, he will be sent home, with all the convenient speed, for transfer to the Army Reserve. He enlisted in 1905. I cannot see any mention of medals, but it is very hard to read, except that it mentions, CHEVRONS FOUR BLUE, W. STRIPES FOUR. We shall have to try and pop in to see the entry in Worcester Cathedral.

Forgot to put there is no mention to where he was between 1905 and 1914, only posted for duty 5/8/14.
