this is the grandfather of Ian Etheridge we hope you have news of the whereabouts of his grave. We want to visit it. Thankyou for your help.

Hi,

If you mean Sergeant Arthur Charles Etheridge (203754) he died of wounds (age 20) on the 13th October 1917 whilst serving with 'A' Company of the 1/7th Battalion Worcestershire Regiment. Hi grave is at the DOZINGHEM MILITARY CEMETERY which is located to the north-west of Poperinge near Krombeke in Belgium. His grave number is X. H. 22.

Thanks for the email. Thanks to Mike Jones we have the information below:

The Charles Etheridge (20300) you are looking for was initially with the 2nd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment with the rank of Private but he was transferred to the Royal Warwickshire Regiment and got their number 20867 and had the rank of Corporal/Lance Sergeant. He was killed on the 4th February 1917 in France and is buried at the Assevillers New British Cemetery (grave number V.C.4.). Assevillers is a village approximately 10 kilometres south-west of Peronne.
