Mentioned in Despatches - Dr E W S Martin

Postby Dannemois » Fri Feb 22, 2008 7:17 pm

Capt Sidney Martin of the Royal Army Medical Corps was attached to the 9th Bn. Worcestershire Regiment in Mesopotamia during WW1. He was killed in action 16 Feb 1917. Capt Martin a native of Dromore in Ireland was at the time of his death, the local doctor from our village of Brithdir, New Tredegar, South Wales. He was the son of John E Martin J.P.

His medal card states he was MID in London Gaz 15. 8. 1917 page 8335 but I have failed to locate this report. Can someone please help with this
