Postby hilsel » Fri Feb 23, 2007 11:20 am

Can anyone let me know if I can gain any information from a Regiment No. Private 21806, Henry Mcdonald was my Grandfather, who died on 6 August 1915 at Galipoli, I know he was a soldier in 1901, as shown on the 1901 census, but I do not now when or where he enlisted. Any information would be gratefully received. Regards Hilary

My name is Carol Baker nee McDonald, Henry McDonald was my grandfather - my father's name was John known as Jack.
I have quite a bit of information can you let me know what you require and hopefully we can help each other.
I know his father's name was Thomas and his mother's Eliza but I cannot find a maiden name for her - research is showing that Henry's mother may have only been 16 years old when he was born - still trying to go further with this but not doing very well.
Henry enlisted at Wolverhampton - some uncertainty about his age.
