Hi Rick,

Private William Rogers (12697) intially served with the Worcestershire Regiment but later transferred to the Royal Army Ordnance Corps and his number changed to S/10871.

He is listed on the Silver War Badge roll (which means he was discharged during the war due to wounds). The Silver War Badge (a circular label badge) was first issued in September 1916. The Regiment Archives at Norton Barracks, Worcester hold the full records relating to the Silver War Badge and if you contact them they will be able to look up what information they have of him. They do make a small charge of £5 to look up the details. You will find full contact details for the Regiment Archives at Worcester on the home page of this website.

Regards,

Louis
