I am looking for information on my Grandfather.
His name was Ernest Plant.
All anyone claims to remember about him was the Worcesters and Srg Major.
Has anyone ever come across the name or have any tips on where I can look for information. I am very new to this.
With thanks for any help/advice.

Ernest Plant

Hello Mr/Mrs/Miss KLS,
You have not given much detail to work with. You have not said which period you think he served. Even if you gave a span of 40 years, it would give somewhwere to start. Where was he born and when? Is he still alive? When and where did he marry whom? I did check the Medal Index Cards for World War 1 and there were no Ernest Plants in the Worcestershire Regiment. If you look at the posting "Denys Wills Adey Richards" in the General Section of the Forum, by Joshiemonkey. Follow these instructions. If you give them plenty of information to work with, I am sure they will help you.

Thanks for the reply. Sorry I was a bit vague in the first instance but I didn't have much to go on myself.
I did look through all the battalions listed on the site and the medals but found nothing.
The only other information I have :
Born 1913 (Nov?) so would have served ww2.
Married Evelyn Plant and had 4 children, first born 1940,last one born 1951.
Died in 1982.
He lived in Warwickshire (Atherstone) after the war/while married.
But I will look at the post you suggested for help.
Thanks.
Kerry.
