Hello Clive.....

Yes I have seen that entry.... The reading of it makes me want to dig some more into his life.... The main reason for this enquiry is I have just obtained his D.S.O., Queen's and King's South Africa medals and I now want to find all I can about this man....

Mike

P.S. His book "Duffers Drift", I have seen several books with that name by many different authors, I wonder how hard it is to get a copy of the Hovell version?

Colonel Hovell

Postby QSAMIKE » Thu Mar 15, 2007 1:41 am

Good Morning Clive

A couple of things.....

Is there a chance of obtaining a photograph of Colonel Hovell, I have tried to copy the one on the site and cannot do so....

Secondly is there anyone trying to keep a register of all regimental medals that come on the market? I have a couple of more QSA's to the regiment and will pass on the information at any time..... I have been doing it for our regimental museum here in Calgary for about 15 years now and a number of people before me have also been keeping their eyes and ears open.
