Corporal John Eaton No. 5111 - Boer War

Postby missejburke » Thu Jul 30, 2009 3:47 pm

I'm looking for any information I can find on my Great Great Grandfather, John Eaton - I know he enlisted in the Worcestershire Regiment, 1st battalion, in 1898 and subsequently fought in the Boer War before then being stationed at Templemore, Ireland where he married my Great Great Grandmother.

He was discharged from the WR in 1910 and went into Reserves to then be called up to the South Staffs Regiment in WW1.

Does anyone know anything more about him? Or know if a visit to the Worcestershre Regiment Museum might be of value to me?
