I wonder if you can help me.

I think my great grandfather George Latham born 1874 was in the 2nd battalion Worcestershire regt his army number is 3630.

I've found out that he served in the the 1899-1902 boer war.

I would like to try and find his army record to confirm that this is my great grandfather, any advice you could give me would be a great help.

Thank you

Tina Healy

Hi
Thank you for your help. My great grandfather was born in 1874 but in Birkenhead, Cheshire, he moved down with his family to colwall, Herefordshire , so maybe this isn't him. On his marriage certificate 7/4/1902 it says that that he was in the 2nd battalion worcester regt in Tipperary, Ireland. Looks like I'm back to stage one.

Regards

Tina

I've looked again at the set of Papers I directed you to. Apart from the birth location(many reasons for an apparent error)much of the other information seems correct.
Army number most important.
Date of Attestation.
Next of Kin - Mother Harriet plus sibblings living in East Herefordshire/West Worcestershire.
Army release post Boer War whilst in Ireland
A Death Notice records Evesham 1943
I believe him to be your relation.
