Hubert Simons Coldstream Guards?

Postby moysiegirl » Fri Apr 23, 2010 1:58 pm

Hi,I wonder if anyone can help me.
I have found two photos of soldiers from my family history box of what I believe to be my Gtgt uncles, they are annoyingly very faded, and I am unable to make out the belt clasps or anything,so its hard to identify a unit. However they lived in Flyford Flavell,Worcester so Im hoping that they in a Worcester reg.
There are no names on the photos but Im going for Hubert George Simons,b 1888,as I have found on Ancestry a medal card saying Coldstream guards WO372/18 REG 4029(although I dont know if he IS mine) and
Charles Simonsb1885,as on the 1911 census he is down as Invalid at home and think he died the next year.
From t
heir ages I suspect Boer war,but think Huberts are from ww1.
