Hi Mike, many thanks for your input regarding the relative concerned.
I confirm we have a set of medals for W. Shaw Number 11028 and we have always been told he was William Shaw.
Also there is a cabinet in Worcester Cathedral which hold the names of all officers, NCO's and men of the second and 3rd battalion who embarked for France in August 1914
One of the names in the third battalion of the Worcestershire Regiment is L/corp W. Shaw. We have been told this is our direct line.
Medals we have with W. Shaw are as follows: 1914-18 medal ( round one with blue , white and orange ribbons)
Bronze medal for the Great War for Civilisation 1914-1919 ( purple, blue, green yellow and red ribbons)
1914 Star (blue white and red ribbons)
Both medals ( excluding Star) has 11028 Sjt. W. Shaw Worc.R.
In your reply you mentioned he was possibly with the 1st Battalion, but above information is in conflict to that, would he have been transfered or such.
Sorry for my lack of knowledge on the subject.
Could you confirm if all his military records could be obtained by us. Re the photo you mentioned, we are still investigation what is available.
Many thanks for your input
