My Great Uncle George Potts was killed on the 28th of June 1915. We are grateful that the Regimental Museum provided information on him, which we would like to share.
He was the eldest son of my Great Grandfather George Potts. The family emigrated to the USA in the latter part of the 1800s. Their first son George Potts was born in Salt Lake City 1890. We know that they returned to England settling in Maidstone Kent.
It is believed that George enlisted into the 4th Battalion the Worcestershire Regiment in 1907.
Based on information to date we believe that he would have died ( probably under shell fire ) during the attack on Gully Ravine in Helles Turkey.
We would very much like to know what he looked like and will probably never will but, never the less he is our relative and we are proud to remember his name.
