Postby Zira » Fri Aug 10, 2007 9:43 pm

Number 12430

My Grandad..joined the Worcestershire regiment in 1909 and was discharged, wounded and unfit 1916.
He served at Ahmednagar and Jhansi and in 1914 was sent to Belgium and France..no more is known.

I have received his medal card from Nat Archives, i believe he would have received an army pension ?? but does not appear on recent documents placed online..
Would love to know more about his army history

Zira, since I dont have a "proper" name nor any sort of location for you, I dont feel the urge to spend 3 hours checking out George Henry Rhodes. If you would like to contact Worcestershire Regiment Archives, link to them on the home page of this website. I am sure they can help. George was awarded a Silver War Badge and they do have the records of this but there is a £5 charge for this service. He also has 2 Medal Index Cards, did you get both of them?
