War Pension Record abbreviations

Does anyone know of a source or dictionary for the myriad abbreviations that appear in these records?
Some are clear, eg CCS (Casualty Clearing Station), but some mystify eg OC3/WR

Hi,
It is likely that the abbreviations OC3/WR means "Commanding Officer of the 3rd Battalion Worcestershire Regiment."

There are many abbreviations which are used and as at present there is not a single source for looking up these. May be there is a case for putting a section on this website about researching military records and their abbreviation and terms used. I will try and get round to doing something about it when I have more time.

Regards,

Louis
