9805 Pte Peplow, William

Postby littleorme » Tue Jan 24, 2012 1:42 pm

Hi
I understand that William died at Kirkee Hospital, Poona, India on October 1st 1916. Thanks to Louis, I believe that he was probably moved to Kirkee from Gallipoli. Where might I enquire to find more information concerning the 9th Battalion's location/actions prior to his death? Is there any hope of finding hospital records?
I know that in April 1916, he was with the 6th Battalion at South Raglan Barracks, Devonport.
Thanks
Clive

Hi Simon,
Thanks for that information. My search started from a postcard sent to William by a relative who thanked him for sending her a badge. She was surprised how much it had cost him. At the time (April 1916), he was at Raglan Barracks, Devonport, but he died on Oct 1st 1916 at Poona, a world away.
